Meredith Lyon is a Seattle-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice investigates systems of value, spectacle, and feminist labor through reconstructed currency, textiles, labor-intensive processes, and experimental printmaking. Her work explores the tension between material and meaning, questioning how value is assigned, preserved, and performed through economic and cultural systems.

Lyon received a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute before earning a Master of Urban Planning from Hunter College. Originally trained in fashion design and apparel construction, she now works as a transportation planner and public servant, designing and analyzing paratransit systems that support mobility for older adults and disabled communities. Her transition from fashion to public infrastructure fundamentally reshaped her understanding of institutional systems, bureaucracy, and the invisible structures that organize everyday life. Those experiences now inform a studio practice that moves fluidly between textile construction, installation, and printmaking.
